Family Care

Children can benefit greatly from homeopathic treatment for anything from teething, colic, coughs and ear infections to chronic problems such as constipation, eczema, allergies, asthma, depression, anxiety, phobias,  ADD/ADHD, and autism (and many others).

The great advantage of homeopathic treatment is in its simplicity;  one very specific, individualized medicine is administered at a time rather than a large number of expensive supplements and challenging dietary constraints.

Despite its simplicity, constitutional treatment is quite deep acting because it takes into account the full picture of symptoms on all levels. This, on top of resolving a specific health problem, serves to balance the emotions and energy levels, often alleviating  restlessness, sleep problems and fears.

 The initial intake session takes 1 to 1.5 hours, and we go over the full medical history and any health concerns.  After an initial intake, I  can consult by telephone should your child become ill with acute illnesses such as coughs, flu, fevers etc. Many parents find this helpful with small children and babies.

Adult Constitutional Treatment

Homeopathic treatment  resolves specific health problems and brings the individual into optimum health, using a highly  individualized approach to understanding the whole person.

The first thing you will notice when you come for a consultation with a homeopath is the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere and the length of time allowed for discussing all aspects of your health problems. In homeopathy, we look for the connections between symptoms - so anything that you feel is relevant to your current problem is discussed, not treated as a separate problem with a separate solution. Together we build a complete picture of your overall state of health which I then use to select an individualized remedy that 'matches' your picture.

It can be very effective for otherwise difficult to treat illnesses, such as unexplained symptoms, chronic pain, depression, ''unexplained infertility' or any chronic disease.   Hormonal imbalances of any kind can be gently restored without synthetic hormones.

The initial intake session lasts about 2 hours.  A minimum of 3 follow up consultations will be needed to monitor your progress and make changes as your health improves.  

Pre and Post Natal Care

Homeopathic medicines are safe, gentle and effective for alleviating the discomforts of pregnancy, and are valuable supports during labour and the postpartum period, along with the care of your midwife or obstetrician.

Homeopathic remedies are not  the same as herbal remedies; they are very diluted and prepared in a specific manner that makes them very safe to take when pregnant or breastfeeding. (See 'About Homeopathy' for more information)

Birth Kit: 10-15 remedies to support birth, postpartum recovery and breastfeeding. Includes remedies to establish effective contractions, for back labour and extreme pain, for healing and speedy recovery afterwards. 

Pregnancy or Postpartum Care - a one hour consultation for specific pregnancy or postpartum complaints such as morning sickness, turning a breech baby, natural induction,  thrush, baby colic, breastfeeding problems, milk supply issues, or any other non-chronic complaint.

Postpartum Healing -  For women who need some extra support in recovering from their birth experience, homeopathic treatment can bring healing at the physical and emotional levels. Helpful for recovering from a cesarean birth, processing difficult emotions, or healing from postpartum depression. Pregnancy induced hormonal changes can also be rebalanced.

MotherCare Package:

Enjoy optimum health during your pregnancy. Constitutional treatment can help with preexisting health problems, new  pregnancy symptoms, and pave the way for a smoother birth and postpartum. This treatment is also highly recommended for women who have a history of anxiety or depression.

Complementary Medicine

 I recommend that my patients continue to see their family doctor regularly, for any tests or diagnoses that may be required.  A homeopath will  take into consideration any tests results that you have obtained and discuss treatment options with you.

Homeopathic medicines are very safe and do not interfere with other medications you may be taking. (I do not prescribe herbal remedies, some of which may interfere with medications or be unsafe in pregnancy)

 You should not stop taking prescribed medication except with the advice of your doctor. You can still obtain homeopathic treatment while taking medication and as your condition improves you may be able to wean off some types of medication in consultation with your doctor.
