  Gaela Nelson B.A., PD.Hom (UK)

As a board member of the Canadian Society of Homeopaths, I am dedicated to high standards in homeopathic practice. I completed the four year Practitioner (International) program of the School of Homeopathy (Devon UK) and post graduate studies with the Canadian Homeopathic Institute in Ottawa.  

I specialize in the safe and holistic treatment of women's health issues such as menstrual/menopausal difficulties, and the support of healthy pregnancy and menopause, as well as the treatment of babies and children

I serve on the board of directors of the Canadian Society of Homeopaths,. http://www.csoh.org

I contribute a column on 'Natural Parenting' to the Barrhaven and Nepean Weekender newspapers.

My Journey

Homeopathic treatment helped me overcome fertility issues and supported me through a healthy pregnancy and the natural birth of my daughter Rowan. Constitutional treatment helped to clear many chronic problems and issues, improving both my physical and emotional well-being, and prepared me for a natural birthing process.

I practice meditation and try to bring principles of compassion and generosity to my work.

Before becoming a homeopath I studied Environmental Studies (BA) and I remain very interested in the links between environment and health.  I am also concerned about issues of global economic justice, having worked in Fair Trade (Bridgehead) for many years and co-founding a local fair trade chocolate company (Cocoa Camino).

Gaela treated me for thrush (a yeast infection of the breast), which I contracted from my newborn while she was nursing. The condition continued to recur over a period of 4 months while I was being treated by my regular physician, and was becoming increasingly painful. Gaela prescribed the homeopathic remedy Phellandrium. The pain went away within 24 hours and it hasn't returned!  - Storm Saito
